Backyard Spring Session {Pleasant Grove Family} | Utah County Photographer

I’m so glad I decided to call my sessions Families at Home instead of in-home sessions, because for real my favorite at-home sessions have mostly taken place in backyards, on porches, and in the neighborhood. In fact, they are usually my favorite sessions period! I sure love a nice mountainscape or beautiful lake, but there’s just nothing like having your family session in your own space, doing your own thing. Kids already have to get used to a new person hanging around and telling them what to do, and a giant black thing in their face, so why not alleviate all the newness by letting them hang in their own spaces. And how about parents not having to get kids in nice clothes and THEN take them somewhere?! Win win win win!!

So here’s a darling family (you may recognize from this hours-old newborn session), in their backyard with gorgeous spring blossoms and lots of fun, and even some bonus time with the neighborhood horses!
